Counseling for Relationship Trauma

I have spent almost a decade working with individuals who have been hurt by people they thought they could trust. It is my mission to bring hope and clarity to a situation that may feel hopeless.

WHAT IS RELATIONSHIP TRAUMA?

Have you ever felt betrayed, hurt, or taken advantage of by a family member, partner or employer? Are you tired of that voice in your head that’s telling you that you’re broken and crazy? Are you struggling to move forward after a toxic, narcissistic or controlling relationship? Do you feel trapped in a cycle of shame and self-criticism? Have past relationship decisions made you question your judgement?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Many of us have experienced harmful relationships that have left us feeling lost, hurt, and filled with blame and self-doubt. Destructive, controlling loved ones can take us away from our values, our identities, our inner wisdom. They can leave us feeling disconnected from our friends, our families, and even ourselves. It can be challenging to move on when the lingering effects of a harmful relationship seem to touch every area of our lives.

Relationship trauma does not only take place between intimate partners. Perhaps you have family members who have harmed – or continue to harm – you in deep and lasting ways. Maybe your relationship with your coworkers is toxic, or your connection with your higher power has given you more pain than relief. Or perhaps your relationship with your sexuality or gender identity has created internal conflict and distress.

Counseling for Loved Ones

One of the biggest privileges of my work has been in supporting you, the loved ones of survivors of abuse. Seeing someone you love hurting and feeling like “There’s nothing I can do” is one of the hardest things anyone can experience. The fact that you are reading this shows me that you care deeply about this person, but are wondering, “Is there anything else I can do?”

You are not as helpless as you feel.

There are things that you – and only you! - can do to support your loved one who is experiencing the effects of abuse. That is why I am excited to offer services customized to support you through this process. In our work together, we will meet weekly to focus on building skills and resources that will help you care for your loved one, while maintaining your hope and faith in what may at times feel like a hopeless situation.

I want to support you.
